Glory at the Gardens: Switchfoot

June 23, 2010

This past Sunday was another hot, humid and bright sunny day. However, the heat and humidity couldn’t keep concert goers away from Festhaus Park. Following The Afters and Bluetree, fans of Switchfoot came out in force.

One guest approached me in the field to express how excited she was to see Switchfoot live in concert. She travelled to Williamsburg from Alabama for the show. They haven’t played in her area and she desperately wanted to see them in concert.

I chatted with another guest who works in one of our local churches. He’s leaving for a mission trip this weekend, and was so excited to see Switchfoot in concert before he left. Many fans showed up to prove Switchfoot’s obvious presence in the Christian Rock scene.

Just as Switchfoot was beginning their show, a small rain burst dropped on the crowd … enough to cool everyone off for a few minutes. It was a welcomed rain. It sure did not dampen the spirits of our guests.

For the final weekend of Glory at the Gardens, Festhaus Park will be hosting Johnny Diaz, Britt Nicole and Third Day. Come join us this Sunday, June 27.
