Beep, Beep!

July 20, 2010

Make sure to visit France during IllumiNights for a nostalgic surprise. We have returned one of our beloved LeMans cars to France.

Those of you who have seen it may wonder why you are not hearing its normal put-put engine sound. We rebuilt the car’s engine to be battery powered and ecologically friendly. We also sent the car back to its original manufacturer to get a new fresh coat of paint, added lights, a horn and renewed the seats.

Our most difficult challenge was finding new wheels for the car. Luckily, we found a vendor who made the tires and we were able to keep the look of the original cars. When France first opened at the park, we had a number of these cars in the village at our LeMans Raceway ride. It’s a great feeling to be able to keep that memory alive in our new France parade.

If you haven’t yet experienced our new summer event, IllumiNights, come check it out. But do it fast … it only runs through Aug. 22. Don’t miss your chance. While you’re here, stop by France and say “beep, beep” to an old friend.

Seeing that you have most all of them in storage, why are you only using one of them? Is it the cost of the conversion that you wrote about? It would be really nice to see at least two of them (one at the front and one near the back).

Le Mans is one of the rides my family misses the most! Is there some way the ride can come back in some form? Especially since the cars are in storage.

Coming from a former ACE. LeMans Raceway was great. A ride I once operated. A ride guest looked forward to. DarKastle is a terrible ride that disapoints a number of guest daily. Guest come off of it dissapointed and mad they wasted so much time. From May 10, 75 to Present, the park is sliding. From trash on the ground, to long lines due to less staffing, and loosing its roots. Bring back the Old Country. From the way the maintenence and landscaping have been sliding. The parks goin down hill, and needs to hopefully rebound soon. Griffon is 1 of the best coasters i’ve ever been on. Hopefully maintenence keeps it in good shape over the years.
