Glory Takes Over the Gardens

June 8, 2010

Kirk Franklin was at our park in all his glory yesterday, and brought the crowds with him.  He was the headliner for our first Glory at the Gardens concert series and the message he spread was uplifting to all of the guests who braved the heat and humidity. The energy in the field and on the stage was vibrant and fun.  Guests were dancing in the field and singing their praises along with Mr. Franklin.

GRITS, the opening band, started the day off at 4 p.m. with a huge amount of enthusiasm bringing the crowd to their feet.  As guests were entering the park, they could hear the rhythm and beat and could see that GRITS was there to entertain.

After GRITS, Kierra Sheard took the stage.  Her vocals were huge and I could hear the crowd joining her with song.  She had a strong connection with the crowd through her message and her voice.

This weekend marked our first weekend of Glory at the Gardens, and by the looks of the guests in the park, they all had a blast.  Steven Curtis Chapman headlines next week with Francesca Battistelli and Building 429 as the opening acts.  Will we see you here?
