New Entertainment at the Canadian Palladium

May 26, 2010

A lot of people have asked what is going on in the Canadian Palladium this year. Well, I’m here to tell you we have something new planned. Let our country roads take you to the place where you belong. Enjoy your meal in the shade and become part of the experience.

Reminisce with our New France Folk Trio as they sing those country tunes that you grew up to. Bang on barrels with our Lumberjack drummers while you eat to a brand new beat.

These acts will be performing daily during our peak season. Our Country Trio opens on May 28 and our drumming Lumberjacks bring their fast paced antics to the area on June 12.

Come on in, kick back and join the fun with our tableside entertainment in the immersive Canadian Palladium.

I really feel that the park needs to provide more entertainment. This theater should have a more major show and more live shows should be added to bring up the numbers more where they were years back. Today if you are not into the rides, Busch Gardens does not really have all they need to entertain for a day. Celtic Fyie is great but I just feel the park needs more, like a production show in the Globe. How about bringing back the big band group, a full show again at the Canadian Palladium would also be great. Over all Busch is a great park. I hope to see them move back in the way of shows again soon. I would also love to see the Elmo meal turned back to the show that was there. Busch still has much to offer but I fear they will start to have older guests not coming, if the park does not have things for them. Don’t go the way Kings Dominion did years back. It seems over the past 2 years you are doing that. You can see where that got them. Just my views.

Well, I suppose it is better than an empty theater still sitting there collecting dust. Still, I have never been a big fan of country-folk music. Bluegrass is OK, but I never felt that New France..aka Canada belongs in Busch Gardens.

I had high hopes with the theater mysteriously closed, that there may be a chance of converting the area to Switzerland, Austria, or even the “French Alps” which would serve as a better transition between France and Germany (and tie in with the Alpengeist). Heck if it were the French Alps, you wouldn’t even need to change the name “Le Scoot”.

The Canadian theater, however, has always been too small and when shows were going on, many times the seats were taken and one had to shuffle around people standing to see the stage. Thanks for a new show regardless. I am sure the entertainers will be amazing as always.

Looks like entertainment is taking a back seat at Busch. Jukebox was successful there for many many years but the last couple years’ worth of attempts at shows there have just been less than desirable. I’ve mainly gotten a pass for the shows and an occasional coaster ride – but feel this may be my last season in remaining a pass holder.

I think the shows are great. If you think about all of the shows they plan for the summer season…now add in an entire new set of shows for halloween…now add in an entire new set of shows for Christmas! I like the variety they provide with the different seasons.
