Make Waves While You Help Make History

May 26, 2010

Here at Water Country USA we believe that water safety is vital. Drowning is the second leading cause of unintended, injury-related death for children ages 11-14 in the United States according to the Center for Disease Control. We want to do our part to offer opportunities for children to learn to swim.

This year for the first time, Water Country USA is offering swim lessons. Swim lessons consist of five sessions per class and each session lasts about 45 minutes. The lessons will be taught by certified American Red Cross Water Safety. Go to for more information.

In honor of our new swim lessons, we wanted to start off by helping to break a Guinness World Record. On June 3, people around the world will all be teaming together to participate in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson. This is a global effort Water Country USA wants to contribute by holding our own free swim lesson. Come join us at our park. The swim lesson begins promptly at 10 a.m. and we need at least 25 participants to count. Want to help make history with us?

We are offering free swim lessons to the first 30 people who bring a printed copy of this blog to Water Country USA on June 3 at 9:45 a.m. Meet at the front gate right at 9:45 a.m. and don’t be late. Walk straight to Rock ‘n’ Roll Island upon arrival and join our swim lesson. We have to be in the water by 10 a.m. so be ready to swim right away. Everyone is welcome, so come and bring your friends and family. This lesson is open to anyone 3 years or older.

Come be a part of the fun June 3 at Water Country USA. See you in the water. And remember, safety first.

I hope you have a couple sessions on the weekend. I would love to bring my son, but I work during the week.

Milissa, we do offer private swim lessons that are a bit more flexible. You can pick the day, even on weekends.
