Still a Bit of Puppy

April 6, 2010

Oh my goodness, I have to tell you about Kitchi because he was hysterical. He was with all three of his pack mates, Maska, Durango and Tala, and was quite playful. However, when no one would play with him, he started playing by himself and chasing his own tail. (Such a cliché, but clearly true …)

The best part was how he chased his tail. He had his body bent around a tree, so he couldn’t figure out his tail’s true possessor. I think he really thought he was chasing another wolf’s tail. We stood back and just watched as he repeatedly wound around the tree, wiggled his tail tip and then pounced at it.

Round and round the tree he went, until Maska beat him at his own game and snuck up behind the tree. Then, WHAMO! Maska yanked Kitchi’s tail. We had to refrain from laughing out loud and interrupting the fun.

Even though he weighs 110 pounds, there’s still a bit of puppy in there.
