It’s all in the planning …

March 19, 2010

When the park is closed, my friends often ask me, “What do you do in the off-season?” To be honest, it is one of our busiest times. We hold auditions, plan new shows, improve returning shows, prep our venues and hire our crews. It’s an exciting atmosphere when we’re preparing for the 2010 season – which starts tomorrow with Pass Member Preview Day.

One of our busiest departments is our Theatrical Services team. Just think – this is the team that had to strike (a theatrical term meaning “to take down”) our Christmas Town decorations and get our venues and theatres ready to open for the season. This involves cleaning and repairing all of the equipment and making our areas safe and workable for 2010.

Ah, good old “Theatre Services.” Guess they changed their name back, huh?
