Meet our new Clydesdales
I’d like to introduce our new Busch Gardens Clydesdales. Our park guests have loved visiting the horses in the Highland Stables since 1975 and we weren’t about to disappoint them.
The Clydesdales that you will meet this season will look a lot different than the horses you have seen in the park previously. A Clydesdale can come in a variety of colors from bay (brown) to black. We are very proud to introduce you to our new herd: Dakota, Dustin, Carly and Panola.
Here are some pictures of Dakota taken yesterday when we hosted local media and showed them the changes we’ve made at Highland Stables.
Our new horses will live at the park year round. And their arrival has been anticipated all winter. These particular horses may be new to the team, but caring for them won’t be. One of my colleagues, Jennifer, has been our Clydesdale Specialist for four years and she traveled with the Budweiser hitch team for three years before that. (She’s in the pictures with Dakota.) Her team also has years of horse experience so they are no strangers to these gentle giants.
You’ll be able to see our new Clydesdale herd at the updated Highland Stables when we open soon. I hope to see you there.

They’re gorgeous! I’m really looking forward to these and the border collies.
What happened to the previous herd you had on display?
Soooo, cute -we can’t wait to come in and spend some time at the stable and see the doggies, sheep and horses in all their glory!
Darryl and Ruth : )
We went to the locals day this past Saturday (Busch Gardens.) We had a wonderful time, and ended our day going into the stalls to pet and talk to the Clydesdales. They are so beautiful, and sweet. I am so happy that Busch Gardens did not eliminate having the Clydesdales there. They have been there since the beginning….it wouldn’t be the same without them!
